Project: I Have Paper, Huzzah!

what to do
To add a little bit of whimsy to this dreary rainy day, try creating an umbrella pond! It is as easy as turning over an umbrella and waiting for the rain to fill-it up. Fold up little boats and you have at least 30 minutes of entertainment before the boat turns soggy.

Today, I was supposed to be at the beach. But, my planned day did a hundred and eighty turn when the rain did not stop pouring. My only  beach day for the year turned to sweater wearing, book reading and painting day. At least I had time to break-in the new watercolor tubes that were given to me by the best person ever! Here’s what I have been working on today.

Meet Lavender. Like me, rainy days are her favorite. I like how cozy and relaxing a rainy day feels. As for Lavender, free water is hard to come by these days, you see.

Wouldn’t it be great if we produce our own oxygen if we had plants on our heads? Evolution please catch up!

Is it obvious that I have recently watched The Secret World of Arriety? (I rank it as one of the must watch movies created by Studio Ghibli along with Howl’s Moving Castle and My Neighbor Totoro) It was another touching Studio Ghibli that I felt compelled to read the book it was based on, which is “The Borrower” by Mary Norton.
